About two weeks ago a began having a burning feeling while urinating.  Along with that, I have difficulty starting a urine stream(it comes out in two streams, or dribbles out then turns left, who knows), and keeping it going.  I have been tested for bacteria infections and Chlamydia(I should say I have had one partner for five years). This is an intermitent problem, but occurs at least once a day.
My question is, if it is not either a bladder infection or Chlamydia, what else could it be.

Dear
Burning with urination, splitting of the stream, and urinary hesitancy (difficulty starting to urinate) are common urologic symptoms that have several possible causes.  Infections of the bladder, prostate or urethra can sometimes explain these symptoms.  A visit to your doctor for a physical examination and laboratory studies including a urinalysis and culture are indicated.  A trial of antibiotics even with negative cultures may be indicated.  If the problem persists, a cystourethroscopy (passing a lighted scope through the penis into the bladder) may be helpful to rule out strictures (narrowing of the urethra).
More individualized care is available at the Henry Ford Hospital and its suburban campuses at  (1 800 653 6568). We can also arrange local accommodations through this number if this is your need. Please bring any physicians notes and lab test results that you may be able to obtain. These will help us greatly.
