:    May sound silly and vain to you, but I have to ask....How do most people wear clothes over the suprapubic cath without anyone noticing the bulge?  I wear dresses and skirts with blouses tucked in and wonder if the cath bulge  will be noticeable.  I dont wear baggy jeans and Im wondering if the pressure from the jeans will hurt the cath.  What do most people do?  One last thing...I'm a 32 yr old single female in a relationship that Id like to take to the next step.  Is there any way yo hide the cath or clamp it during sex, or anything? Sorry to sound vain, but I dont want to feel like I have to hide my body.  Thanks for any suggestions
I am not a doctor but I have had some experience with a neurogenic bladder with my son.  At one point they had us doing intermittent catheterization with placing an antiobiotic wash directly in the bladder following.  He continued with oral antibiotics for prophylactic reasons because he has only one kidney and had reflux to that kidney.  They have discussed suprapubic tubes with us and it was my understanding that it would be more of a button that you cath through.  My guess they are wanting you to have a continuous emptying of the bladder or do they feel you don't empty totally by cathing the other way?
