Several years ago, I developed a pain in my left testicle which extended up into my abdomen.  After tons of tests and visits to my regular doctor and a urologist, I was diagnosed with a varicocele in my left testicle.  There has been no further treatment for it.
Since then, for about six years now, I've lived with this varying pain in the testicle and abdomen.  I've had a very happy healthy baby and am now considering a vasectomy for birth control.
At the time I have the operation, should I also have the varicocele operated on?  Will this remove or reduce the pain?
Thanks.
I'm not the doctor, and it looks like the doctor isn't going to repond.
Anyway, Fixing the varicocele will probably help the problem, but it is probably a more significant operation than the vasectomy. More significant, but still minor surgery.
Basically, you will need to discuss this with your urologist.
Good Luck!
