i am a 34 yr old male. last night i discovered blood in my semen. it was dark colored maroonish.i have somewhat high blood pressure and am a smoker. i drink 2-3 beers per day, and take 600 mgs of ibuprophren every night. i have had a monogamous relationship for the past 5 yrs. i am active and physically fit. i have not had any trauma to the area, and i play sports on a regular basis. this has never happennned before, the only other rarity was a couple of years ago my semen appeared to be of a greyish tint, but not obviously. is this an indication of cancer? if i see my dr. will he require a semen sample? what should i look for and could this possibly correct itself? i am very concerned about this. there is no history of cancer in my family that i know of.
thank you very much for your time and consideration.
Just two nights after Mike posted this my husband experienced the same thing..I am more than a little concerned. He is 44 a smoker and not totally fit, but takes no meds at all.
could this be a symptom of cancer??? and why would the blood NOT appear in the urine?
