cystoscopy to rule out the possibility of tumors. I really do not want to go through this procedure because I'm worried it will be painful. Can you give me any suggestions.

I am a 46 year old with bladder cancer. DONT WAIT!
early bladder cancer is very curable. It is VERY dangerous however if it
gets invasive into the muscle.
I have had numerous cystoscopies. They are not fun, but they are tolerable.
I understand they are worse for men than women since a mans urethera is longer
and the scope has to fit past the prostate. They do use lots of ky jelly,
and have a special lube with a novacain in it which they squirt into the
urethera first. It helps. I sing a little afterwards, and feel like i need
to pee but a couple of tyleonl. and I am fine within a few hours.
Just breathe easy, relax and let them look. Its worth knowing.
my best to you.
