I am a 29 year old white male, and I have what appears to be a

Testicle ultrasound, near the epididymus. I met with a euro the oter day and he said, by touch, that he did not know if the

Testicle ultrasound or not. He also stated that the lump was not the "typical" size or shape of something to be concerned about. I have an ultrasound scheduled for tomorrow. My questions are; (1)Are all testicular cancers a "typical" size or shape? (2)If this lump were cancer, would it be expected to increase in size? (3)what are the chances of a benign cyst versus cancer? Thank you
Mike,
I'm not the doctor, so keep checking back for their answer.
In answer to your questions:
1) NO, all testicular tumors are not of a typical size or shape.
2) NO, if this lump was cancer there is no reason to believe that it would or would not grow. It could do either. If it is cancer and it shrinks, it may still spread outside of the testicle.
3) IF the ultrasouns shows that the "lump" is outside of the testicle then the odds of it being cancer are roughly zero. If the ultrasouns shows a cystic mass on the testicle, then again the odds of it being cancer are extremely low. If, on the other hand, the ultrasound shows a solid mass on or in the testicle, then the odds are close to 100% that it is either cancer or a different type of tumor that would also require removal of the testicle.
Good Luck!
