Red Meatus & Urgent Urination

Hi,
I am a 31 year old white male.  On January the 27th I had protected (used a condom at all times) sex with a white girl in a massage parlour in the southwest of the UK.  She was menstruating at the time.  Some of her fluids were in my pubic hair but not on my penis and the condom was taken off carefully.  I have since had unprotected sex with my wife a number of times and to date she has no symptoms of anything wrong.

It is worth mentioning I have been very stressed at work since the beginning of January (and still am).  A month later (27th of Feb) I noticed that the tip of my penis (meatus) was slightly red.  I read countless articles on the net and scarred myself senseless convinced I had an STD.  On Monday the 1st of March I started having urgency of urination.  The urgency got worse and I was in pain because of being desperate to pee all the time.  I did not have burning sensation when peeing but starting flow was painful / difficult.  I did not have tender glands or swollen or painful testicles.  I did not have blood in my semen or urine & no erectile disfunction or pain on ejaculation.  I also had no discharge from my penis.  So on March the 3rd I had a urine test done at my doctors for chlamydia and that was negative (was sent off for culture).  I had my urine tested for white blood cells in a medical centre on the 3rd and that showed no white blood cells / no cystitis.

Then on the 4th I went to the sexual health dept at the local hospital.  They took two urine samples (start & mid flow) after not urinating for 3 hours and also a swab from my urethra. They did a microscope examination of urine & swab and that showed no white blood cells or anything else abnormal.  They also did cultures on the swab and urine and they phoned me up and said I did not have chlamydia, gonorrhea or NGU.  They said they did not test for Trichomoniasis as they couldn't do this on a man.  They did do a visual exam at the time and said they saw no signs of any warts, lesions or anything else abnormal (except the red meatus) and said they thought there was no point in doing a blood test for Herpes, Syphilis, HIV etc due to me wearing a condom.  They said they thought I was just very anxious (worried I would give my wife something & lose my family) and suggested I see my doctor for some medication to calm me down.

I saw the doctor who prescribed me diazepam.  After getting the negative results and taking the diazepam I did start to feel better I also took a 2 x 500mg Azithromycin as a precaution.  I also took fluconazol and cream for thrush for a week which made no difference at all.

I do suffer from IBS (Irritable Bowel Syndrome) alot and the IBS has been terrible recently (still is) requiring lots of Imodium to keep it under control,  I mention this as I wondered if it may be related or could cause the urinary problems?

It's now  11 weeks since my sexual encounter with the massage parlour girl and I still have frequent urination although not as bad and the tip of my penis is still red.  It is still difficult to start peeing but there is no burning or itching when I pee.  I went to see my doctor on Friday last week and he tested me for diabetes (did finger ***** test and said sugars were ok) and that was negative he also checked my prostate and said it was not enlarged.  He did however prescribe me dicflofenac and said I might have prostatitis or it could just be because I am still very anxious.

I was very calm for 3 days last week and the urge to urinate was less but the redness on my meatus was still there.  At the moment I can last longer (couple of hours) before the urge to pee happens, particularly if I am mentally distracted.  However it's still a little painful when I first start flow (as I relax muscles to pee).  Sometimes I get the urge to go but there is hardly any urine passed,  If I've drunk quite a lot of fluids then the rate of low seems normal.  The redness on the meatus can sometimes get to the point where it is bearly noticeable but then flair up again.  Does anyone have any suggestions as to what could be wrong with me?  I posted in the STD forum initially but my post was answered saying the symptoms do not seem like an STD and the fact I used a condom & have negative results make it unlikely and I should post in this forum.  Also if the urethra is inflamed for any reason is this something which can take weeks not days to go away (do I need some patience)?

Many Thanks
