Reoccurance of discomfort

To Doc,
About a year ago I started to have pain one day in my left testicle after my workout in the gym. After a week of pain i went to a doctor in NYU medical center and was diagnosed With i believe hydrocele on the epidytimis. I do not quite remember the exact diagnosis. But the doctor said that this did not come from the gym.  But here are my systoms as they are reoccuring again.  The left testicle feels larger than right. On top is a large lump that is on the harder side (i had this at the time of my sonigram the first time around) Towards the bottom it kinda feels like a line is indented in the testicle not a raised line.  It feels exaclty the way it did then.  There are no lumps on the sides but the testicle itself is very tender. What do you think these systoms are coming.

Various types of scrotal masses or cysts can be considered, including varicocele, hydrocele, cancer, or epididymal cysts.

The most reasonable initial test would be a scrotal ultrasound.  Most cases, except obviously cancer, of scrotal cysts are not dangerous and can be managed by your urologist.

To be safe, I would also obtain urine tests and undergo a prostate exam to evaluate for infection.

These options can be discussed with your personal physician.

Followup with your personal physician is essential.
