Retro Grade Ejaculation

After having surgery for my back 5 years ago and having plates and rods inserted in my back one of the side effects that I was told about was Retro Grade Ejaculation.  They also told me that it would reverse itself in 6mos to a year, well it hasnt and its been 5 years.  I have all the same feelings as climaxing and have no problem with erection, matter of fact I think it is harder and more intense than before.  I am told that the ejaculate is reversed to the bladder and I have had a test and I do have very high sperm count after ejaculation in my bladder so we know that everything is working well that way.
My question and concern is I am 43 years old now and have had a couple of Postrate infections since my Retro Grade ejaculation.  I am concerned about cancer of the postrate.  Will this condition or could this condition have an effect on getting postrate cancer.  Is this a healthy condition to have Retro Grade ejaculation.  I cant get any of my doctors to answer in detail.  My wife of 25 years has been very happy with the condition as it is less a mess with sex and we have had our two children, but I worry about it and future complications.

Dear Ken,
To answer your questions about cancer secondary to retrograde ejaculation, There is no correlation between this condition and bladder or prostate cancer.  This condition is completely benign and should never cause you any problems.
If you ever wanted to take medication to potentially restore the strength of the bladder neck and potentially reverse the flow of your ejaculate, there are some medications (alpha sympathomimetic agents and antihistamines)) that you might try.  These include, Phenylpropanolamine, Psuedoephedrine(Pseudofed), Ephedrine Sulphate, or Imipramine Hcl.  Success from these medications has been as high as 40% in some studies.
