I'll post my story in chronological order for better understanding.
AUG 2014 - protected vaginal/oral sex, followed by burning/discomfort/itching in urethra. Given Azithromycin 250mg for 3 days all cleared up.
Late SEPT. 2014 - unprotected oral sex with a girl who told me later she had dental work prior. This was the last exposure I had.
OCT. 2014 - severe urethral discomfort, pain, burning, frequency, urgency, No discharge. Chalmydia, mycoplasma hominis, ureaplasma, urinalysis/culture, all negative and normal no RBCs or WBCs. I was put on 2 weeks of levofloxacin 500mg once a day.
NOV. 2014 - symptoms decrease substantially. No urgency/frequency, just urethral pain at the start and post urination with burning, put on another 3 weeks of levofloxacin 500mg once a day for the urethral discomfort.
DEC. 2014 - Urinalysis/culture repeated, CT/GC DNA test - all negative & normal no growth
JAN. 2015 - Put on Doxycycline 100mg twice a day 10 days, no improvement
FEB. 2015 (4 months post exposure) - CT/GC test repeated, HSV 1&2 IGg, Hepatitis B&C, HIV antibodies, VDRL (for syphillis) - all negative
Feb. 2015 - Ultrasonography of the pelvis all normal. Was put on Cipro 500mg twice a day for 8.5 days (could'nt finish 10 day course due to sever side effects)
March 2015 - Full blood work showing normal kidney/liver function, normal RBC&WBC count in blood.
Now, April 2014, 6 months later, I still have urethral discomfort, pain, and burning after urniation, sometimes pinching itch at the tip of my penis, very mild bladder discomfort not everyday. I couldn't find any place that would test for mycoplasma genitallium and i'm wondering if that is the cause. All labs test for mycoplasma hominis only. Also wondering of it's an STD or not. I've spent so much money and energy and all the antibiotics have made me weaker and caused me depression.
Final advice from doctors: derma/genito specialist says live with it, 2 urologists recommended cystoscopy, 1 urologist said no cystoscopy nobody's perfect just distract yourself & stay busy, and another family doctor said live with it and no cystoscopy.
Any advice ?
