My son had a surgery at two, for an undecsented testicule. Now he is five and doctor recomend removing it,as it has remained small.
Should we remove it or wait and see if it can grow later in life?
If it is atrophied then removal is better. However I would think that growing up with only one might be tough. (Emotionally) I had mine removed when I was 28 (married with a son) and it took me about a year to get used to the idea.
I will also say that the removal surgery is invasive (I have had 3 orchiopexies as well) Repeated surgeries on that area are not ideal. For my son as long as it was not doing any harm I would leave it alone.
