Should my husband have a Lythotripsy procedure after bladder distension

My husband suffers from interstitial cystitus and underwent a biopsy and bladder distension one week ago. The Doctor also used laser therapy on his bladder because it was extremely inflamed. He seemed to be healing normally, then last evening he began passing bright red blood and blood clots. The doctor has scheduled a Lythotripsy for kidney stones one week from today. Will the Lythotripsy irritate his bladder condition?

After looking on various medical research sites, including Medline, I was unable to find an association between lithotripsy and interstitial cystitis.
You may want to discuss this question with your personal urologist before proceeding, but I am not aware of a direct connection between lithotripsy and interstitial cystitis (although it may certainly be possible).
Followup with your personal physician is essential.
