Slight Bruise and Pain on penis shaft- Possicle Penis Fracture

by RickyA, May 17, 2006 12:00AM
About one hour after having sex with my wife I noticed that my penis was tender to the touch in one confined area on the side of my shaft. The pain is still there after five days and I have noticed that there looks to be a very slight bruise about the 1" X 1/2" at the area of pain.  I only experience pain with I touch the area( even lightly) but there is no pain at all that is constant. I have not other symptoms, no pain during urination, leakage, etc. Just pain and a slight bruise. I have seen articles about penis "fractures" and wondered if I may have had some degree of "fracture" from sex with my wife. I have an appointmnet with the Urologist-IN 17 DAYS!!-earliest available. Just want some advice in the meantime. What is the treatment if any and the expected healing time? I am in greneral good health -about 25lbs overweight and 32 yrs old.

Penile trauma, fracture or hematoma are all possible.

The treatment as well as recovery time would depend on the severity of the damage.  If it is just a bruise, convservative therapy like warm paks a non-steroidals can help.

However, before treating this, I would consider imaging studies.  This can start with a penile ultrasound and can get more detailed with CT scans and MRIs.

I would discuss these options with your personal physician.

Followup with your personal physician is essential.
