Slight curvature

Approximately 6-8 months ago I was having discomfort near the head of my penis during erections. I consulted with a Urlogist who advised that he felt a slight fibourous bump but not to worry and to check back with him in one year. Approximately 3 months ago I noticed that during erections my penis is curving to the left and I still have some pain at the bottom of the head of the penis. I'm very concerned that this may get worse and my wife has noticed a difference in the past three months. My wife and I have had an active and vigorous sex life which I'm sorry to say may have caused this problem. Any suggestions as to the problem/treatment? Are there any Urlogist in Maryland or surrounding areas that you would recommend. thanks

I think I would have a better idea if I could examine the penis an specifically feel for the a plaque.
You may have a disease known as Peyronie’s disease, this would explain your pain, pain with erections, and disfigurement curvature of your penis. Peyronie’s disease is due to a scar that forms inside the penis. There is no known cause or origin of this condition but it affects men at all stages of life. It is not caused by a sexually transmitted disease however some theories state that it may be caused by trauma secondary to intercourse.(vigorous intercourse) Its primary symptoms are curvature of the penis during erection (this may interfere with intercourse), pain during erection, soft erections, shortening or narrowing of the penis, and a hard plaque felt below the skin. This can be a progressive condition which you have noticed over the last three months. It is important to see a urologist soon before the curvature progresses any further.
The goals of treatment are to relieve pain and make the penis function adequately. There are some medications that are used however nobody has the magic pill to cure this problem. Our current medications help deal with the symptoms and help make life better but if all else fails and you have persistent pain there are surgical option reserved for those who truly need it.
My recommendations are to be see your Urologist again and let him know of the progression. Another thing you can do is take a polaroid photo of your penis while it is erect.(top view and side view). You can show your urologist so he know how serious your problem is.
