Small Red Spots and Clear Mucus Like Discharge

A few nights ago my wife and I were messing around, but it didn't lead to sex and there was no ejaculation.  The next morning we did have sex resulting in ejaculation.

Almost immediately I noticed that there was a biting and mild itching feeling after I concluded urinating.  It would usually only last 10-20 minutes then subside.  I also had the vague feeling of something being lodged in my urethra.  About 30 hours later, after concluding urinating, I noticed a small, sticky, gum like discharge at the end of my penis.  After this incident the symptoms immediately resolved.

Also, after sex my penis was unusually red and irritated.  I just thought it was normal irritation and indeed most of the redness cleared within a few hours.  But, I noticed after about 12 hours had passed that there were still a few tiny red spots on the glans and underneath my foreskin.  I again dismissed it as irritation, but noticed that after about another 24 hours the spots had become slightly larger, with the spots under the foreskin merging into one larger spot now the size of a pencil eraser.

I read some medical references and applied some of my science background and was able to quickly conclude that it was probably a fungus, most likely yeast, and applied Lotrimin Ultra anti-fungal cream that night.  In the morning, about 8 hours later, the red spots on my glans were gone and the larger spot in my foreskin had become smaller and more of a pink color.  I applied another application of the same cream in the morning and that night the spot was completely gone.  I continued to apply once a day for the next few days to ensure everything had been killed.

It has now been five days and there have been no reemergence of any symptoms.

Has anyone out there had any experiences such as this?

I believe that my amateur diagnosis was correct concerning the red spots because of the quick reaction and resolution of symptoms coinciding to the timing of treatment.  But, I am not sure about the abnormal discharge.

When I was reading some sources suggested tha it was just undischarged semen remnant that got stuck in the urethra and it had to work its way out.  This is plausible because the consistency of it was much like semen that has been exposed to the air for awhile (it gets clumpy and glue like.)

But I am more worried because of two points.  First, a symptom of a male penile yeast infection is "white" gel like discharge.  Second, this symptom is indicative of many other STDs.

If I do have a urethral yeast infection I am unsure of whether or not it will resolve itself without treatment.  Does anyone have any idea?  Has anyone ever had such an infection with the symptom of discharge?

I have very little cause to worry about STDs.  I have been married for over five years now and I know I have been faithful and have little reason to think my wife has been otherwise.  But, it is still in the back of my head.  I don't believe it is an STD due to the rapid onset.  Most STDs that would produce these symptoms have incubation period of at least 2 to 3 days.

Any information would be appreciated.  Thanks.

Thanks Venessa.  I appreciate the feedback.  No further discharge has occured or any other symptoms concerning the discharge.  I consulted a doctor friend of mine who said that it was most likely unejected semen remanent that worked its way out of my urethra through various urinations. (He even confided in me that a similar situation had happened to him once.)

Although the red spots under my foreskin did come back 24 hours after concluding treatment (applied twice a day for four days.)  I went back to applying Lotrimin Ultra to the area 2-3 times a day and red spots disappeared after 24 hours.  I am going to continue treatment for 2 weeks to ensure no re-emeregence.

I hope any one else in a similar situation finds this thread useful.

Hi,

I do not think this is an STD. You have very good points here and I feel that what you have must be a superficial skin irritation brought about by the sexual activity. However, you had a previous yeast infection and this could have also contributed to the condition. Yeast infections may be recurrent and may need follow up consult with your physician.

Since the spots have responded to the medications you have applied, they may be a yeast infection. However, it is also possible that they are just superficial skin irritation, that could have resolved spontaneously and not necessarily the cream being responsible for their resolution.

This does not sound like this needs immediate intervention. The white discharge does not sound very significant unless this recurs in the absence of arousal or sexual activity.
