Any bleeding in the urine is not normal and should be investigated.

The most thorough test for bladder cancer is a cystoscopy.  Other causes of bleeding in the urine can be from kidney stones, infections, or other kidney disease.

In addition to the cystoscopy, you can also consider a pyelogram to evaluate the lower GU tract.

These options can be discussed with your personal physician, or in conjunction with a urologist.

Followup with your personal physician is essential.
