Sore nerve on left penis head

by med123, Feb 03, 2005 12:00AM
I'm a 26 year old healthy male.

Around three months ago, after having sex, I woke up in the middle of the night and the left side of my penis head was in pain.  I Just rolled over, and though nothing of it.  When I woke up in the morning it was stil there.  As the day went on, the friction from walking was maknig the left side of the glan very sore.  It almost felt like a bruised feeling.  Like it was hit with a hammer and just hurt everytime I touched it.

This is almost three months later now.  While it doesnt hurt as much as before, the same spot is still sore.  I also experince an uncomfortable feeling on the left side in betwen my leg and scrotum, underneath the testicles.  That comes and goes.  During the past three months, I've had mini spasms inflamation (inflammation) in my left side of the groin, left leg and thigh, and a little in the stomach by the belly button.  They were seldom, and not very painful.

I've been to over 10 doctors, including 3 urologist.  I've been on antibiotics, apo-sulfatrim for three weeks, Keflex, nystatin cream.

The only thing I can think of, is a month or two before this occured I was doing "PC crunches", an exercise that I heard increases sexual control.  You basically squeeze the PC to hold back the sperm.  Another thing, about three weeks before the pain started, I had a furuncle on the right shaft of my penis.  I took anti-biotics and it went away.  5 days after it went away, I felt the pain.  Maybe the bacteria slipped into my reproductive area?  I did use warm compresses to try and get rid of it.  Maybe it was too much?  Another possability Ilook edup on-line is Perenial nerve entrapment?  I dont have discharge, no pimples or sores, I've tested negative to all STDS.

I was having sex on and off the past three months, but I have now stopped, hoping it will help.

Currently, I'm taking Ibu-profin, and anti-biotics Keflex.

Do you know what is happening with me?  Have you heard of such symptoms?  Is there anything I can do to help myself recover?  Any help would be greatly appreciated, thank you.

If you have been to 10 doctors and 3 urologists, it is unlikely that I can offer anything new, especially without examination.

In case it hasn't been covered, you want to ensure that the prostate has been thoroughly evaluated - with a digital rectal exam and transrectal ultrasound (to look for abscess).

If everything is negative, you can consider a neurology evaluation - and possible electrodiagnostic testing to look for nerve dysfunction or entrapment syndromes.

Followup with your personal physician is essential.
