Stupid people doing stupid things

    Dear Doctor, this is not easy for me to discuss.  Last Friday Aug. 14th I became very aroused and did something very stupid.  I went to the bathroom and used the squeeze bottle of anal ease, inserting the tip of the tube into my penis and the contents went in.......and came out almost immediately thereafter.  I then noticed a slight burning / irritation feeling and rinsed with luke warm water then noticed some swelling on the tip of my penis and applied some neosporin.  The following morning Saturday Aug. 15th,  I purchased some AZO (I noticed the burning when urinating cleared up almost completely Saturday night) and took it twice a day up to Sunday Aug.16th just to make sure and continued the luke warm water rinse and neosporin.  On Monday Aug. 17th I had intercourse with my wife and there were no problems with firmness / hardness, we stopped only because we argued about the position.  On Tuesday Aug. 18th my wife and I had intercourse again, no problem with firmness / hardness, but stopped because we did not allow enough time after eating.  Now, on Saturday August 22nd my wife and I had intercourse again, I have sensation, I ejaculated, HOWEVER I noticed that I was not as firm / hard and required a little more effort to stay firm / hard, and normally when I am firm / hard there is a little more resistance with my penis as well, now there is less resistance.  My wife and I are going through an awful lot of stress as well, I was thinking perhaps this might be attributed to that or maybe it is the BENZOCAINE or perhaps a combination, is this something I should be greatly worried about if it is the BENZOCAINE, will this wear off or is this permanent?  What is the worst that can happen, has the worst happened, is this correctable?    Please advise a stupid person, I thank you for your time in advance

Sounds like a case of inflammation from the gel that should resolve on its own. The extra effort with sexual activity and the feeling (if not the reality)  that your penis was not as turgid as it has been in the past I think are anxiety related issues. If the feelings persist  then you should see an emotional counselor. Relax if you can and don’t compare/grade each sexual encounter. Erections and the intensity of the sexual experience vary from time to time and  this is normal. Treat yourself gently.
