Sudden Swelling Right In Right Testicle Tubes
I noticed a sudden swelling on the right side of my scrotal sac. Only the right side, the left side is still feels completely normal. The swelling surrounded the right testicle and there was a soreness, and a mild ache. I can still function jog, walk, but i notice the sore ache still. The swelling went down after a few hours. Its been about 3 weeks and the swelling has gone down some but it never healed itself. It is still swollen a little and one side of the epididimys is swollen but not hard like a lump or a pebble. Its almost twice the size of the completely normal feeling left epididimys tube. Also the vas deferns tube on the right side are swollen also.
I remember 20 or so hours before the sudden swelling I was prologing ejaculation during sex a few times more than normal. Its been about 3 weeks. I have ejaculated since then, I'm still functioning sexually but I can feel the ache and the right side of my testicular sac is still bigger than normal. Any thoughts or possible diagnosis are greatly appreciated.

Hi,
The most likely possibility in your case is acute epididymitis. It’s commonly caused by the bacterial infection but can also be an inflammatory reaction to the recent infection which can be viral. It typically presents with fever, swelling of testes, pain.
The other disease which should be ruled out is torsion of the testes but in that the pain is usually quite severe and a simple test to differentiate is that if the elevation of the testes results ina relief of the pain, then the diagnosis is likely epididymitis.
The diagnosis can further be confirmed by an ultrasonography of the scrotum.
The causative organism in the sexually active males is commonly Chlamydia and the treatment is with antibiotics and analgesics.
