Surgically Induced Nuerogenic Bladder Condition?

by RZEE50, Jun 11, 2007 12:00AM
I really would appreciate hearing from anyone who is personally experiencing or has any information or knowledge relating to a Nuerogenic Bladder Condition resulting from a lumbar epidural steroid injection. I am now 50 and underwent the procedure in June, 05.  Procedure was done by an anesthesiolgist under floroscopy. I did feel an "electical" jolt down my buttocks and leg as the needle was being positioned. Following morning I had no feeling throughout my groin, buttocks and legs. This did go away after about 5 weeks. About a week later I went to see a urologist who following a Neurogenic Study diagnosed a Nuerogenic Bladder.  Lumbar MRI's since  also show that I have  Arachnoiditis in my lower spine.  I'm most interested in knowing what & how this could have happened?  Is it a known complication? Do I have any options more appealing than self catheterzation?  One of my biggest problems for me is trying to obtain answers and coordinate follow up care between several medical disciplines.

Thanks,
