Dear Barry,
What you describe is most worrisome. You need to be evaluated by a urologist  today, within the next few hours. Go to an emergency room if you are unable to get an appointment today. You may have a torsionof the spermatic cord (twist of the “stalk” upon which the testis hangs) which result in death of that testicle if it is not corrected within a matter of hours. You may have an infection, which certainly needs treatment. However, my greatest concern is that you have a testis cancer. This needs immediate treatment in order to give you the best chance for a cure.
