Swollen dorsal vein

A week or so ago I noticed the Dorsal vein on top of my penis looked
much bigger than it used to (at first I thought maybe I was imagining it, but
now I'm pretty sure...I would have noticed it looking like this before).
It's odd too because if I lay down (on my back) or sit in a leaned back position, the
vein usually looks normal. But being up and about and active for a while
and it will look swollen (at worst it sticks out about 1/8" from the rest of my penis).
It's generally not painful itself, (though I do sometimes notice a slight stinging sensation
mostly at the penis hole right as I begin urinating and sometimes for a while afterwards)
It seems worse the more flaccid my penis is. I can get an erection
and even masturbate with no pain (the vein looks large but is not sticking
out when I have an erection.) but when it becomes flaccid again the vein
will begin sticking out again.
I'm a 34 year old male, who is not sexually active at this time, so I have
no concerns about some sort of STD, but this is troubling me and I'm wondering
if it's something to worry about.
