TRT Question

Hi Guys,

About 10 days ago I began Testosterone Replacement Therapy (due to a 206 reading) specifically 50mg troches, two in the AM one in the PM.  Thing is though, I have a general feeling of feeling like shi**t.  Much like a hangover-exactly like a hangover come to think of it.  I have scoured in the internet and have found feedback ranging from “Run to the ER now” to “Your body is just getting used to the stuff”  I have a follow-up apt with my PCP in a couple of weeks and I will bring this up to be sure.  Anyone have any thoughts?

You have posted the same question on different forums.
In a different forum I did write the following:

You should have received an information note on the medication that you have been prescribed.  If you have, then read that because it will tell you what the side effects are.

If there was not information note with your prescribed medication, then contact the doctor or the pharmacist about the diarrhea and nausea.  You don't say which brand you have been prescribed nor the etc symptoms.

It may well be that this is a side effect of the testosterone and it does not suit you.  Or it may just be coincidental that you have picked up a stomach bug.

My husband is on testosterone replacement, but has not complained of any symptoms.  I complained on one brand because just the smell of it made me feel nauseous.  So the doctor had to change the brand again.

Make an appointment and discuss this with your doctor.

I was suffering from fatigue, hair loss and generally feeling like crap.  I was also losing muscle and tone very quickly.  Once I started the testosterone replacement, I regained muscle loss, I regained my hair and generally I feel good.  You may need more than 10 days to really notice the difference.

Good luck.
