TULIP Operation

Anybody had a TULIP operation?

if Any I would like to know your experience.

Do you know the possible complications of this operation? (do they include erectile dysfunctions?)

Which anesthesy best fits this operation?

Hi there!

TULIP stands for Transurethral ultrasound-guided laser-induced prostatectomy. The procedure is performed under general or regional anesthesia and takes around and hour to an hour and a half. Possible complications include post operative haematuria, inflammation etc. About 30% of men may experience erectile dysfunction. You could read about the procedure online and also discuss it in detail with your treating doctor.
Hope this is helpful.

Take care!
