Hello,
I have a dull, almost ever present soreness in my right testicleTesticle lump Testicle pain Testicle ultrasound. It could however, be coming from in my in my scrodum next to my right testicleTesticle lump Testicle pain Testicle ultrasound it is hard to tell. Either way, it isn't a terrible pain, but it is very annoying and it ranges in intensity. I have seen a urologist about it before and he did his test (not any STD or cancer, or twisted testicleTesticle lump Testicle pain Testicle ultrasound, etc) but he diagnosed it as being a result of highly acidic urineCalcium - urine Calcium urine test Chloride - urine Cortisol - urine Electrolytes - urine Glucose test - urine Hcg in urine Ketones - urine Kidney - blood and urine flow Lh urine test (home test) Ph urine test. Saying that drinking alot of fruit juice and acidic things can cause such pain and I should just drink a littleLittle noses decongestant Little tummys more water and the problem would be solved. It worked for awhile but now it is back and I am not drinking any uncommonly high amount of acidic liquidsLiquid barosperse Liquid calcium with vitamin d Liquid co-q10 Liquid e-z paque Liquid pedvaxhib Liquid polibar Liquid pred. I have gone to another doctor she tells me everything is fine down there and there is nothing to worry about. But the soreness alone is worry some, because I just want it gone. A few specifics...
It generally does not bother be while I am active, sexually or otherwise. I am a pretty active guy so I run a fair amount and it doesn't bother me during my runs, but it does bother me most when I am idle (sitting at my desk to do work etc). Sometime interacting with the area, moving it around etc, even picking it up (ceasing contact with leg etc) will reduce the soreness. A system that accompanied my first diagnosis was a sever inflamation (inflammation) in the tip of my penis that followed urination (not during or before) again I was told this was due to the acid.
I'd love to know what is causing this so I could stop it, or at least minimize it. The first doctor told me to take advil when it happens and that does work basically, but I can't be taking advil every day (i can';t imagine that is good for you).
Thank you for your help...hopefully you know what it could be.
Hello,
Such testicular soreness can be due to inflammation, excessive bicycle riding, hernia or kidney or ureteric stones. It can also be due to friction rub of the skin of scrotum with clothes. Wash the areas several times with fresh water. Do not use any cosmetic products at the sites. You can apply some calamine lotion at the rash as it will help in soothing the skin. Also wear cotton undergarments. Application of mild corticosteroid cream and oral antiinflammatories like ibuprofen/acetaminophen are also helpful. If the symptoms are severe then it will be best to consult a urologist.
Hope it helps. Take care and please do keep me posted on how you are doing. Kind regards.
Doctor, I appreciate your fast response and genuine concern. I decided to visit a local urologist to be sure and he diagnosed it as prostatitis after an extremely painful prostate exam. He gave me an antibiotic ("baximin" or something like that) and basically said it was no big deal. He didn't, however, give me any idea how I got it or how I can avoid getting it again, which I would definitely like to do. I have heard over-exercise is a popular cause in young men (I am 23), which is possible because I do exercise a lot, but how do I know when it is too much? Can "holding it" when you have to urinate be a cause? Does this diagnosis mean I am "prone" to this condition. I would love to hear from you clarifying any, if not all of these issues. Thanks again.
Hello,
Excessive bicycle riding, exercises and holding for too long can all cause such testicular pain esp. in young males. In cases of hernia, a prominent bulge along with testicular pain is there and in cases of kidney or ureteric stones, pain during micturition may also be there.
Pain due to torsion comes suddenly and is severe and acute in nature. Moreover it is often accompanied by nausea and vomiting. Pain in varicocele subsides on lying down. Pain from epididymitis (an infection of the testicle) and other causes usually sets in gradually. Early on, pain due to epididymitis is often just in the area of the epididymis itself. Consult a urologist and get the diagnosis confirmed first before taking any drugs.
I sincerely hope that helps. Take care and kind regards.
