Testicular Pain

I have had a vericocele on my left side for a decade now and have never had any problems with it. Over the past 4 days my right side of my scrotum has felt like i got whacked in the balls. I went to the doctor and got an ultrasound and they said everything was normal and just said i had an inflammed vericocele. But my question is that thats on my left side and its my right testicle that hurts wayyy more. What else could it be? Maybe an inguinal hernia or would the ultrasound have found that?...no blood in the urine.

Usually, the varicocele is on the left side but is commonly bilateral also and is not visible from outside and gets noticed only after it gets inflamed. The sudden appearance of a severe pain in the testes could be due to the testicular torsion also. Hernia produces a pain only after it has got complicated and the swelling is usually visible easily.
