Testicular cyst and leg pain

Testicular cyst and leg pain

Recently I was diagnosed to have a cyst on the right testicle which is accompanied with the usual dull ache and my doctor seems quite content ot treat it with painkillers as opposed to seeing a urologist. My concern is that along with the dull burning ache, I'm experiencing a weakness in the right hip and right leg. I've never had a cyst of any sort before....is this normal and how long should I expect this pain to go away before I should be seen by a professional rather than the GP?

Cysts generally respond to conservative therapy as was suggested.  However, if the pain continues, I agree that a urologist should examine you.  Imaging with an ultrasound to determine if there was any growth in the cyst or presence of any other scrotal disorder should be done.  Obtaining urine samples and examining the prostate should be considered to evaluate for infection.

As mentioned above, the urology referral is recommended.  If there is radiating pain, a neurology consult can also be considered.

Followup with your personal physician is essential.
