Testicular symptoms.

Approx. 4 days ago, I woke up with a dull pain in my right testicle,  I didnt think much of it, and assumed it would go away.  The pain is STILL here.  My symptoms are: Pain (dull ache of 3-4 to stabbing pains upward of a 8-9), swelling (rt teste is now significantly larger than normal), hardening in the teste, radiated pain up the inner groin to the right hip socket, lower backache, slight nausea, and a "fluid" that seems to be just around the right teste, however there is NOT any temperature variation between the testes, and there is NOT any unusual redness of the scrotum.  Has anyone heard/had all these symptoms?  Im really nervous that it could be testicular cancer.
Other factors to include are: I am 28 yrs old, I am a smoker, I was recently around various pesticides and various chemicals used in the automotive industry, i have never had any problems with hernia, ED, etc.  Any suggestions?

Hello,
Testicular pain can be due to injury, infection (Epididymitis or Orchitis) or inflammation, testicular torsion( most common in young men), excessive bicycle riding, hernia, varicocele or kidney or ureteric stones.

As there is a swelling or inflammation of the scrotal sacs, so the chances of epidiymitis or orchitis are there. In cases of hernia, a prominent bulge along with testicular pain is there and in cases of kidney or ureteric stones, pain during micturition may also be there.

Lab investigations like complete blood examination, urine examination, ultrasound lower abdomen and sometimes a urethral swab will help in diagnosis. Treatment will be started thereafter. My advise would be to consult a urologist.
I sincerely hope that helps. Take care.

Seems like nobody responds on the Urology boards.  So, I'll do my best.

First off, I can tell you testicular pain that lasts needs to be checked out by a doctor.  I'm as cheap as the next guy, but this is one you can't be cheap on.

I've panicked myself silly over testicular problems lately myself.  There are a number of things that can cause your symptoms, and for majority (not all mind you) of cancer cases there's not that sort of pain.  Testicular torsion can cause your symptoms and is a medical emergency.  Typically you have to see a doctor quickly or lose the testicle, like within 8 hours.  I would assume if you've not seen a doctor and haven't gotten way more ill, chances are that's not the problem but rather epididymitis or orchitis.  Both are an infection that requires antibiotics and your PCP should be able to diagnose and get you started down that path.  But, first thing is to make sure torsion is ruled out since that's by far the largest risk you face with sudden and severe pain in that area.

Good luck, and God be with us both!
