Testicular tortion

How is testicular tortion diagnosed?  Can it be diagnosed with an abdominal X-ray?

The classic finding on physical examination is an asymmetrically high-riding testis on the affected side.  Early on, profound testicular swelling is typical.

The test of choice would be a scrotal ultrasound.  An abdominal X-ray would not likely diagnose testicular torsion.

Followup with your personal physician is essential.
