Tightening of pelvic/sphincter muscles, irritation, retraction

by adl323, Feb 10, 2009 03:12PM
I have been having some issues, sometimes related to stress:

I find that often my pelvic and sphincter muscles are tight.  I have to think about them on a regular basis to loosen them and make sure they aren't tightened.  Also, after I urinate my penis seems somewhat retracted, then goes back to normal after 10 minutes or so.  Is this normal?
Also, I find sometimes I have a bit of irritation or a little bit of odd feelings in my pelvic region.
On occasion, I find after defecating (poop), I continue to hold my muscles tightly and that in turn causes irritation, and sometimes burning.  Could this be due to cutting off circulation down there?  My nerves seem off as well, I feel little shots of pain every now and then in my penis.  It's just an odd group of problems going on, and I'm wondering if I am causing them myself by tightening these muscles subconciously when I am stressed out?
I visited my MD and he ran some blood and urine tests and had me do a ultrasound of my abdomen, but everything checked out so far.  Should I try and just put this out of my mind, or seek more (urologist) help?

Thank you...
