Tiny Lump on tip of Urethra

by Tony__0, Dec 12, 1998 12:00AM

I am 20 yrs old and have recently noticed that, whether erect or not, when I place my finger on the tip of my penis just above the urethra opening (not on top, but on the tip) and push in (towards myself) I feel a small (1mm??) lump.  I can not feel this lump in any other way.
I apologise if this is confusing, but the lump is not visible, nor can it be felt is any other manner.  I can only feel it if I do what I described above.  It is as if the lump is is in the glans of the penis, just above the urethra "tube".  It is not on the skin, but actually in the penis.
I appreciate your patience in this matter.

Thanks, Tony, for your question. It is impossible to give a diagnosis without an examination.  There maybe a benign congenital ( present since birth) lesion under the skin which is left over from the development of the urethra.  It is rare to be able to palpate a lesion of the urethra through the glans but I guess this is possible. Maybe you have an old scar here. I would recommend a urinalysis and follow up exams to make sure it is not growing.
