Torn, split urethra/penis opening

I have a noticed a small tear or split on my penis opening. The cut is vertical and has continued down the line of the opening. When i urinate the stream is more spread out. It didn't bleed or anything it is not that noticeable when not erect. It has not become infected. Should i see a doctor? will it tear even more? what treatment is there? will it heal? should i see a doctor, if so will a GP be alright or will i need a urologist?
