UTI?

Hi I just was wondering if I could be getting another UTI. I just got over one last week and thought I was doing great over the weekend and this morning I've had the urgency to go to the bathroom but when I go there is hardly anything there. It doesn't hurt to go and I don't feel bad I just feel like I need to go to the bathroom alot!

My Dr. put me on Cipro for 3 days and it seemed to work I think! Let me know if anyone has any idea! Thanks!

Hi,

It is possible that the infection has not been eradicated completely. Ciprofloxacin 500mg is prescribed twice daily for at least 5 days for treatment of UTIs. So please recheck with your doctor if you need to continue the course of antibiotics.

Some measures you can undertake to eradicated the infection include:
Drinking over 2000cc (8 glasses) of fluids per day, preferrably mor.
take tylenol for the pain, every 6-8 hours, but do not continue the tylenol for more than 3 days.
Take ascorbic acid 1000mg (Vitamin C) per day.
Drink cranberry juice as often as possible.
Maintain hygiene when visiting the restroom. Wipe from front to back always and avoid use of any cosmetic or chemical substances that may irritate the urethral opening.
   Avoid alcohol and caffeine.

Do keep us posted on your progress.

regards

Hi, try taking plenty of fluids and even after 2 days if you still get urge, do get urine culture sensitivity done.
