Undescended Testes, Retractile Testes, Gliding Testes

Hi,

After reading quite a fair bit on the net, I am still unsure whether which problem I lie on. My left teste is not hanging down like my right teste. However, I can feel about 1/2 of the entire left teste.

What I would like to ask is, what kind of treatment can I go for to resolve this problem? If not, how will this affect my fertility and future possible medical problems? Can I have a child normally?

Hi,

Thank you for posting your remark. I had been operated on my left testicle to remove a hematoma after a vasectomy. The skill of the surgeon plays a big part.
A year after the surgery I was seen by a urologist and I asked if the testicle could be freed in the scrotum. The testicle no longer moved freely in the scrotum. I was told that should be prepared to loose the testicle if I opted for surgery. I was told to leave things as they are. A weekf after this appointment, I ended up in hospital with a staph infection of the left testicle. I received an emergency orchiectomy a week later on my birthday.
Lonely87 you are best of to leave things as they are.

All the best.

Ron

If it is as you say and retracting into the inguinal region then an orchiopexy will fix it into the scrotum. I have had this surgery, repeatedly. It does not always work. There are many structures and if any are damaged then it causes problems later, believe me. Anyway long story short I had to have the twice operated testicle removed eventually. Surgeon's skill will matter so much for this one.
