I have been using Hcg, 2000 IU 3 x per week under a doctor's supervision. I am a 35 year-old male with low sex drive and a testosterone level that was originally 176 when first tested.
I have been taking Hcg continuously for over 1 year now, and I have to say that I am not impressed. I selected Hcg over Testosterone because I want to remain fertile.
Within any given 8-week period, I have satisfactory sex drive for MAYBE 1-2 weeks, with peaks lasting 3-4 days with 2-3 weeks in between. During the 'lows' my sex drive is low and my erectile ability is almost nonexistent.
I notice that during the peaks, my genitals are fuller, larger, and more sensitive, while the rest of the time they are noticeably smaller with little sensation. About 2 days prior to a peak, I begin to break out a little on my face and back, my voice becomes slightly deeper, and I simply feel better. This lasts for a few days, then I back to my normal, crappy self.
I have mentioned this to my endocrinologist, and he shrugs it off and says that the Hcg should be be working, and my Testosterone levels (when tested at the doctor) are normally between 500 and 800, so that is basically normal.
Does anyone have an idea why my libido is fluctuating so much? It is driving me crazy, and affecting my relationship very badly. Any ideas would be appreciated...what am I missing?

It is difficult to say. If the testosterone is within a normal range it is unlikely that this is leading to your symptoms.
Various medication side effects can lead to a change in libido - specifically anti-depressants. If you are taking medication, you can review their side effect profile with your personal physician to ensure this isn't the case.
In addition to problems with the testosterone, you can evaluate for thyroid conditions. Any fluctuation may also lead to libido dysfunction.
These options can be discussed with your personal physician.
Followup with your personal physician is essential.
