My boyfriend has 3 children with his ex-wife. After the second child he had a vasectomyBefore and after vasectomy Vasectomy. For whatever reason, the vasectomyBefore and after vasectomy Vasectomy didn't take and he had the third child. After the third child he had another vasectomyBefore and after vasectomy Vasectomy. That was 8 years ago. We decided we wanted to try to have a child together. Recently he went to see a urologist and after ultrasound, scans, and an MRI, the urologist told him it would not be successful because of too much scar tissue. I still want to pursue having a baby with this man. Should we get a second opinion? Is there any way to harvest his sperm from inside and then do invitro? or what other options can we try?
There are two methods of vasectomyBefore and after vasectomy Vasectomy reversal. They are: vasovasostomy and vasoepididymostomy. The former method might not work if there is a lot of scar tissue that is blocking the vas deferens. In your partner’s case, the second method would be optimum.
In case the surgeries are not successful, then a lot of sperm retrival techniques are available these days, which can help you have a child. Procedures like PESA, MESA and TESA are commonly used.
Hope this information helps.
Best.
How are you? Vasectomy reversal usually is effective regardless of how many years back it was done. How ever a time span of more than 15 years is considered, too late as the quality of the sperm might not be adequate.
