Hello,

Thanks for posting your query.

Varicocele grade 1 is the mild form of varicocele which presents only with Valsalva. Not all varicoceles require surgery. Surgery has the potential to cause testicular damage. It is recommended only if varicocele is palpable or visible without valsalva, there is infertility or semen analysis is abnormal.

For the testicular pain, as your doctor has advised, you can provide support to the scrotum by wearing an athletic supporter, apply ice to the scrotum, take warm baths if there are signs of inflammation, while lying down, place a rolled towel under your scrotum or try over-the-counter pain relievers, like acetaminophen or ibuprofen.

Hope that this information helps and hope that you will get better soon.

Wishing you good health.
