Viagra interaction question.

by David-Miner, Jan 01, 1999 12:00AM

  Hello all,
I am currently on 2.5mgs of Loniten per day (Oral Minoxidil). I am taking this drug for male pattern hairloss after having tried other methods. My maximum dosage will be 5mgs a day. I may start using Viagra soon and I would like to know if it would be safe to use the 2 drugs together.
Thank you very much for your help.
  David

Dear David,
I looked in the PDR and determined that it would be safe for you to take these two medications together.  I would also consult your pharmacist who could do a more exstensive search in the literature on the computer.  They have programs that identify possible interactions and case reports not always available in the PDR.
This information is provided for general medical educational purposes only.  Please consult your physician for diagnostic and treatment options pertaining to your specific medical condition.  More individualized care is available at the Henry Ford Hospital and its satellites (1 800 653-6568).
Sincerely,
