What is it? I need help =(

Well...
Where to start...
I've been posting here for a while, trying to work out what's wrong.
But I think I've only managed to confuse people.

So let's simplify this a little.
I'm a fifteen year old male, never had sex, who's been experiencing symptoms (listed below) for about 3 months now, on and off. I think I may have some kind of urinary tract infection, but I can't say for sure, as no doctor has been able to diagnose me yet.

I've been treated for Chlamydia, and NGU- Urethritis and also Penile Candidiasis (or thrush). Okay, so basically, I've had 1 round of Keflex to treat a general infection. That had no effect. Two rounds of Doxy, for urethritis, no effect. A womens thrush treatment, (not advised by my doctor, I tried this myself, probably a bad idea), also no effect, and more recently my doctor suspected I had chlamydia, so he made me take a one dose treatment. No effect again.

Now, the symptoms.
I'm only going to list what I'm experiencing at the moment, to lessen all that confusion I caused with my last post.
- An increase in urination frequency (or at least feeling like I need to go more, sometimes even all the time)
- An irritating feeling that seems to come from inside my penis. I'm not sure what this is, but I think it might be urine that's getting caught inside my penis, and not being released entirely when I urinate.
- It seems that these symptoms arise after I masturbate. If I don't for more than two days they seem to get a little better.
- There also appears to be a red rash/inflamed looking area just under the head of the penis (top side). It is slightly painful if rubbed.  See diagram: http://xs125.xs.to/xs125/08125/rash778.png

I've been tested for:
- Chlamydia (Negative result)
- Ultrasound of kidneys (No abnormalities)
- A general blood test, with full blood count etc.etc. I don't know the exacts of what was tested, but I know it was just a basic test, not a test for STDs or anything. (No abnormalities in the result)
- Urine test. 24hr culture. (No abnormalities)

Any help, or ideas would be appreciated it.
I'll happily answer any questions you have too.
Thanks.

Yeah, I asked my doctor about that discharge kinda thing.. he said it was most likely dried sperm. =P Seems kinda likely, haha.
And no, I haven't asked for a urethral swab, I'm gonna see a urologist sometime soon hopefully, got an appointment for the 10th, but maybe someone will council and ill get one sooner, who knows?  And well, he'll probably take one right? If not I'll make sure to ask him anyway.

Never knew it was possible to staph infection in you're urethra =P Good luck with that man.
Also, does yours appear to come and go?
I mean, my infection seems to be active one week, and then totally disappears the next week.... but sooner or later it comes back again.

Hi.

I'm in a very similar situation!
Well, some things I'd like to say here...
First, I've lied here about some things because I didn't know nothing about STDs.
Ok, about 5 years ago, me, still virgin, had some redness on my penis... Ok, that redness lasted some time but every time I've masturbated myself it came back again...
My first time (sex) happenned exactly 3 months ago with a sex worker and with condoms despite the fact that she performed oral sex on me without a condom...
BUT exactly since 1 year later I've been experiencing redness, itching and yellow discharge. The discharge ALWAYS makes my penis more red and makes my penis itch... OK... so I've talked to my doctor and told him when he asked me I was a virgin if I had sex... I said "yes" (because I didn't want to be tagged as a stupid virgin)... then he asked me if I had unprotected sex... I was like "yes, I had" (I was lying, I was still a virgin, I've just wanted to take an STD test and make sure everything was okay with me)then I've took STD tests... 3, actually... one 3 years ago (everything went fine, all negative)... 2 years ago (the same thing) and now... 3 weeks ago I got tested again BUT something was found! They've found a bacteria called staphylacoccus aureus... in my urethral swab. Since 1 month ago, I've been feeling pain in my prostate... My question is...: is it possible to get staph without sex and still have an NGU? does staph cause prostatitis?

Performed tests:
- Urethral swab (staph detected)
- Gonorrhea (negative 3 times)
- Chlamydia (negative 3 times)
- HIV (tests were negative... I'm sure about that even without tests hehehehee)
- HSV (negative)
- VDRL (negative)
- Kidneys and bladder ultrasound (no abnormalities found!)

Well... I feel sometimes a pain in my kidneys exactly as Charlie43 says... Sorry for stealing your thread Charlie... :(
CHARLIE... DID YOU ASK THEM FOR A URETHRAL SWAB???
In previously threads, you've told me about a mild discharge, remember?

Okay, I saw my doctor today.
Over the past five days I've also been experiencing a dull ache in my testicles, so he examined them for pain in the epididymis (I believe that's the little gland above the testicle, that leads to the penis or something). Anyway, turns out they're they don't hurt, but I still have this kind of dull constant aching feeling.

The doctor also examined my red rash thing, he wasn't sure what it was, he only mentioned that it doesn't look like any kind of fungal infection, apart from that he didn't really comment much on it, I don't think he knew what it was. I'm thinking maybe its just schafing (unsure if thats spelt right), possibly from too much masturbation a while ago? (I've stopped all of that recently, in an attempt to lessen the symptoms, it's been working a little).

My kidney pains are sharp, little pains that only last a second or two and seem to be coming from the general area of my kidneys (i.e. both sides of my back).  I also noticed a kind of aching pain, which I can only describe as the feeling you get when you hang onto urine for too long, and get an aching pain in your kidneys. Same area as these sharp pains, so that's why I assume kidneys.

And no, my prostate has not had an ultrasound done, only my kidneys have.

I've been sent onto a urologist by my doctor. Should get an appointment within two - three days, hopefully. I'll let you know how it goes. If you'd like to know what the doctor has written on my referal, I'd be happy to tell you, but I've explained everything that he says anyway.

Thanks for all your help, looking forward to hearing from you again.

Hi,

When you say pain that seems to be coming from your kidneys ,what do you mean?

Do you refer to back pains or flank pains ?

Kidney disease usually presents with low back pain and flank pains especially in the presence of kidney stones. There may be associated findings in the urinalysis like increased bacterial load, crystals, protein and casts.Your urinalysis may easily show this. In your case, your previous scans showed no significant findings. One differential for you will be chronic prostatitis and prostatodynia (have I posted this previously?). This may not present with any bacterial growth in urine culture. Was a transrectal ultrasound of the prostate done? You may discuss this with your physicians.

Have the penile rash evaluated first.Keep us posted regarding physician's advice.

I'm going to the doctor tomorrow afternoon.
However, I noticed today some pains that appear to be coming from my kidneys.
So I'd say its definitely more than just too much masturbating. (although it's been a while and I'm feeling alot better, so I'd say that it does aggravate the condition).

No, I'm not circumcised.
And thanks for the advice. I'll ask my GP about seeing a dermatologist.

Hmm, this seems likely. I'll stop for a week or two and see if the symptoms go away. Thanks for the tip. ( I have noticed that the symptoms do become less noticeable if I stop for two days)

Also, I'm probably gonna go see my GP on Wednesday. And hopefully book with a specialist so I can be properly examined. Ill give you all the results.

Hi,

This stinging pain in the area may be caused by the penile lesion or rash. Your tests as you have posted came back negative. This rules out an underlying urinary tract infection.

Just a relevant question: Areyou circumcised?

I suggest you have this checked by a dermatologist. A fungal infection, a bacterial infection or a psoriatic lesion are differentials.Do not self medicate until your physician has made a definite assessment on what caused this rash.Use only a mild nonabrasive cleanser to clean the area.Observe good genital hygiene at all times.

Avoid any sexual activity for the moment as this may aggravate the symptoms.

No, I have no previous allergies at least as far as I know.
I really don't know when I first noticed the penile rash. However I think it was before the urinary symptoms, but how long before I can't say.
It's basically a red, irritated looking area, under the foreskin, right in the middle, just under the head, on the top side of my penis. I experienced a kind of stinging pain in my penis today (not after urinating, it was just constant) and when I applied Savlon antiseptic cream to the red area, it seemed to lessen the stinging feeling.
Also, this red area is usually not that noticable, but it does flare up after masturbation.

Thanks for the help.

Relax Charlie...

I'm sure you are just overworking your penis.  My husband is a frequent masturbator and after 17 years of marraige, I've seen your symptoms many times.  Try masturbating less frequently and use lubrication when you do.  The head of your penis is probably chapped, that's why the redness.  Try not to masturbate for a week and give your penis a break.

Hi,

With the absence of a sigificant sexual history, then STD's may be readily excluded.

In your case, you have these primary symptoms: A penile rash, penile pain and irritative urinary symptoms ( urinary frequency and a burning pain).

In the presence of irritative symptoms, one has to readily suspect an underlying infection.A urinary tract infection especially involving the lower urinary tract may be considered ( urethritis and cystitis). However, urinalysis and urine culture did not show anything. A urethral syndrome may be considered in your case however, you have no previous sexual contact and antifungal medications did not offer some relief.

I suggest that you inform your parents or guardian about this. A kidney ,ureter and bladder CT scan may be necessary. Not all stones may be visualized through an ultrasound. Also an evaluation of your prostate may help.If everything else is normal, a cystoscopy may be indicated.

Do you have any previous allergies?

Would you be able to elaborate on the penile rash?Did this appear at the same time with your urinary symptoms?

Hey,
We are having a pretty similar experience.  My problems arose from a very specific point in time.  I had refrained from masturbation for a couple of weeks and when I did it again I felt a strange irritation (like the need to get rid of something inside of thye urethra.)  The difference with my story is that this resulted in a lot of blood coming out in the urine the next time I peed.
I also recieved many tests and I even had a cystoscopy (where they actually look up the urethra with a tube with a camera on it) and my urologist is not certain.  Their best guess is that it was trauma during masturbation, which does make sense in my case since I had no symptoms prior to that incident. Also, I have had 7 days of Doxycycline and 14 days of Bactrim.    It does not feel nearly as irrtated as it did those first few weeks, but it does still feel like something is in my urethra.
I understand that our stories have significant differences, but one thing is certain.  We should try to leave the area alone for a while and see if this improves the condition.  Being young men makes this difficult.
Don 't worry about the lack of a diagnosis.  And don't search through the internet looking for every possible scenario.  Penis problems are sensative and challenge us to have faith that we will be normal again in the future.
You'll be alright man.  Even this must pass.

Damnit, I forgot a symptom again.
- I've also been experiencing occasional pains in my penis. Usually after masturbation. They're sharp. Usually only last a second or two. And only occur every hour or so.
