Where can the patient draw the line?

During the first urological exam...
Urinary Urgency Problems...
Everything seems to be so SECRETIVE.. not allowed to fill out papers early?
Why not? Hiding something?
Afraid I'll know what they are "really" going to do?
And don't want me to know in advance?
What disclaimers are required to be signed? What rights am I "giving away"?
What legal LENIENCIES are required to be signed in indecipherable legal babble?
Allowing them to take organ samples wherever they wish
whenever they wish... by my signing on the dotted line... at the last "unread" moment?
Like The Senate and Congress... NOT reading the CONTRACT FIRST!
What rights do I have... to say NO!!!! To any specific test or exam... PROBE!
Like a colonoscopy, sigmoidoscopy, or cystoscopy... I've had them all, but in this case, may not be necessary.
Last (excuse the term) Dr. took "not allowable" privleges with bodily exposure... This will not happen again... EVER!
So I'm asking what rights I... the patient, have... to say NO... to what ever access, excess or privileges this Urologist wants, or thinks he wants, or thinks he can get away with.
All in the name of a greater pay check... at the cost of my health!!!

All I have is the urinary URGE problem, doesn't (in my opinion) require the total violation of all orofices... and I too have had a Cystoscopy, in an Army Hospital in Germany... prompted by bleeding from bladder (complictions from Vietnam) , a Colonoscopy... prompted by bleeding from rectum (also complications from Vietnam) ... now they are on a fishing expedition to make some money... the urinary urge, is not dangerous enough to require such violations... in my opinion.
Sorry to hear about your problems... I wouldn't wish that on anyone.
I'm sure one never gets used to such indignities.
Have you checked to see if they are taking external pictures of you and "the procedure"? The did of me, and I destroyed the external picture... there is absolutely "nothing" about the prostate and colon, that can be photographed... "EXTERNALLY".

Most urological examinations causes you to loose all dignity.

During a cystoscopy they will need to have access to the penis in  order to look at the bladder urethra etc.

You are asked to sign a conscent form to let them do these things.

I have had too many cystoscopies to name and have allways found them to be degrading, however without them I most likely would have been dead right now.
I will have yet another cystoscopy on September 23 this year.

If you ever where to undergo surgery in these regions you would have to give access to these body parts.

I do not allways apreciate what  is done but it allways has been neccessary. My current problem deals with a hole between my prostate and rectum. If I refuse access I will constantly end up with infections that could kill me. It is allways left up to you to decide what you want to have done.

I'm not sure as to what you expect.

All the best.

Ron
