after uretraplasty

i have been reading about what other people are dealing with after this type of surgery and some symptoms are similar to mine.  I have lost feeling in about 40% of feeling on my scrotum and the bottom side of my penis is numb.  The biggest issue is when it comes time to ejaculate, it builds up with sensation and then there is nothing but leakage, no sensation or much semen at all.  Did anyone else's doctor tell them that this would happen?  My doctor said I would not be effected sexually.  Any suggestions?

Hi fellas, I had a uretoplasty at the age of fifty one. This year. I have had a bit of a problem with the actual amount of semen that I ejaculate, but it varies. I find the longer that I do not have sex or mastubate, the less semen there is. I suggest you wait until it has almost completely healed until you try it out. I did. I had two structures in my penis, one of which I still have. Erections are a little bit painful, but it seems to get better after a while. My penis is curved over towards my testicles a bit, and it feels like my uretra has shrunk. Not because of the surgery. I have found that I ejaculate quickly, but I always did have a problem with that.
Urination is a bit easier after the surgery, less painful. But I had to get used to sitting down to pee. I can say that it will not interfere with a normal sexual relationship with a woman.

Hey, thanks for sharing. Would you say you are overall happy you had the surgery?  Would you consider it a success for what you wanted out of it?

Hi,

I did not have this surgery, but I had a TURP and resection of the bladderneck. I do not know what all is involve urethraplasty, but I was wondering if it can have simmilarities.
In the matter regarding ejeculation, after my surgery, there would be a build up to ejeculation but once this did take place the sensation is not there.

During a TURP and resection of the bladderneck, a scope is passed in the penis and tissue is scraped off the prostate. This procedure does damage the sphyncter, that controls ejecualtion. When a man ejeculates there is a sphyncter that closes to allow semen to be ejected from the penis. When this sphyncter is dammaged, semen now takes the route of least resistance and ends up going into the bladder. Some semen might dribble from the penis, but most of it will end up going into the bladder.
It is possible that this might be temporary. After having had many years without any semen coming out of the penis during ejeculation, I now have some semen being ejected during ejeculation. The force is not great, but the sensation is there again. Prior to the surgery and in the OR before the urologist started the surgery he told me about this possibility. I was told that the possibility of being able to father a child was very minimal. About a year after my TURP, my wife became pregnant with our youngest daughter.

I feel that some of your surgery would have the same result as a TURP.

All the best.
