bladder sling surgery failure

My mother had a bladder sling operations. She has had problems from day one. She is still leaking. She says more then she was before she even had the surgery. The doctor put her on vasicare to help with the leakage. This has not changed anything.

Now the doctor has told her he wants to put a stint in. Could you explain to me what the stint would do? And if you are familiar with this particular type of procedure.
