About 2 weeks ago at my yearly gyn checkout I was told there was blood in my urine. I have never noticed blood in my urine so it was seen under a microscope. I was given an antibiotic to clear up any possible UTI. The day after I started taking the antibiotic I noticed pus in my urine. I also had slight pain in my left flank. The pain was off and on and did not last long. I went ahead and made an appt with a urologist. The doctor took another urine sample to be sent off and ordered an ultrasound. I had the ultrasound done today and the radiologist said my kidneys and bladder looked normal. She saw no stones. When I go the radiological report it said a slightly dilated right renal collecting system with no other abnormalities. What does this mean? Will I have to have other tests as a result of this? I forgot to mention that I'm a 35 y/o female. Thanks!

This can be due to a kidney infection, or an anatomical variant.
I agree with the antibiotic treatment. Repeating the ultrasound after the treatment course can be considered to see if the dilation resolves.
If there continues to be blood in the urine after antibiotics, a cystoscopy can be done to evaluate the bladder for any signs of cancer.
These options can be discussed with your urologist.
Followup with your personal physician is essential.
