blood in urine

I had my bladder re suspended 4 months ago. I have urinated slowly since then. 10 days ago I could not urinate... so I went to the hospital and had them insert a catheter to relieve the pressure. I have an apt with my doctor Monday, tomorrow. I noticed for the past 2 days I have blood in my urine but only during the middle of the day... I drink lots of water and the urine is clear through the night...
When she put in the catheter, 10 days ago, she said she heard or felt a pop, like a blockage...
Why is it I have blood in the urine but not all of the time...
My surgury consisted of putting in some patches before my bladder was suspended for additional support.
I have not had intercourse with my husband, but he did probe with his fingers into my vagina 2 days before and it made my urine flow regular.... then I cam to a stoppage... and then hospital and catheter....
Thank you for any advise you can give me to direct to my doctor tomorrow...

Hi,  Visible blood in the urine is usually a sign of a problem in the urinary tract.  If you had a bladder suspension recently, the blood could be coming from a suture or material used to do the bladder suspension that has eroded into the bladder or urethra.  A Urologist or gynecologist will need to do a cystoscopy (look into your bladder thru a scope) to check it for problems related to the  suspension.  If the bladder and urethra are normal you will need some kind of X-ray or ultrasound to check your kidneys for a stone or other cause of bleeding. Your surgeon who did the bladder suspension can also determine the reason for the retention of urine problem.  It's not uncommon, if the bladder suspension is a little too tight, for patients to have difficulty voiding.  Good Luck  tomorrow.
