broken penis?

I'm not clear where one forum starts or ends and have posted on another here (just joined).  I am in some pain, not much, like an extended erection that becomes uncomfortable, but also in my scrotum (not inside but more on the surface, which is also the case of my penis).  The pain seems less if there is heat, more if I'm cold and I feel I am cold and the circulation is down.  This has been going on about 10 days (been to ER but they said things were normal, though I was not erect, been to doctor who isn't much good, he thought "broken penis" though this seemingly is suddenly painful and doesn't fit things) although about one month ago during erection I noticed the top third of my penis drooping, not as hard at all, much thinner, a vein bulging where it stopped being fatter -- like some obstruction.  I can come, I kinda of denied anything was wrong.  I take Viagra but have for 5 years (am 64) without incident, a low dosage, 10 mg.  But then I began thinking I maybe had an erection in my sleep for four + hours.  I also might have on Viagra banged my penis during some awkward intercourse.  I'm not sure if this seemingly is blockage, reversal, tissue damage, irreversible, or what?  I have a urology appointment in about a week -- these are hard to get.  What might be the help given what might be wrong and is this dangerous to try?  Thank you.

Why then do they say go to your doctor if you have a four hour erection?

Peyronie's disease can appear quite suddenly, though classically it  does not.
Viagra would not cause these symptoms, at least not that has been reported.
We can go around theorizing, but the urologist who sees you will be in the best position to give a diagnosis.

The onset of this was sudden (although I refused to deal with it), something happened overnight and not over time, so I don't think what you're saying applies.  Is there something Viagra caused that produces my condition?  Some tingling stretching kind of pain in the shaft, in the scrotum, and the tip third of the penis losing erectile function?  And the onset of the latter suddenly, though I didn't notice pain for a time.

I find your history hard to follow, but it sounds as if you are experincing pain in the shaft of your penis that extends into your scrotum, both at rest and with an erection. Also, you have a portion of your penis that stays flaccid (soft) while the remainder of the shaft is relatively firm. You did not experience this all of a sudden.
It sounds to me that you may have Peyronie's disease. This is a fibrosis that can occur in penises, usually over a period of time. This causes penile angulation, can affect the blood flow into the penis and may be associated with pain. Often there are firm to hard lumps (plaques) that are found on close examination of the shaft. There are many treatments, which means that we really do not know the best way to treat it. One can do nothing,  pursue surgery or inject medications into the shaft in an effort to reverse the process. Creams and herbs do not work Penile stretching devices may have a place in treatment.
See what the urologist says.
