bump? near epididymis

by tulanejosh, Apr 24, 2009 07:56PM
During just general feeling around down there in the shower, i found what i can only describe as a bump on my right testicle. Maybe the size of a pinhead.  It is right at the base of the tubing that connects to my right testicle. Google images identifies this as my epididymis. It doesnt hurt or anything like that.

I feel something similar, if not identical, on my left testicle - thought it takes a little more probing to find it (but is in generally the same location on the left testicle).

I am thinking that since i recently had a physical and they did an exam down there for testicular cancer that this is nothing, especially since i found it on the other testicle as well.  But is this something i should be concerned about, and if not what is it?

Your description is most consistent with an appendix testis or appendix epididymis. These are structures which have no function in humans and if usually are of no consequence. They can twist and cause pain and swelling, but this is quite uncommon in an adult.
Have a great day!

So i should not be concerned that i kind find one more easily on one testicle than the other (they both have approximately the same consistency)?
