There are many things that can cause this pain it could be chronic cystitis or interstitial cystitis.  The symptoms are the same and a good urologist can help diagnosis the problems. IC is often misdiagnosed in men and the ICA has a new brochure on IC and men.   Either way you have pain, burning and bladder pain.  The self help things etc. can help you while you see a diagnosis!
We have an IC support forum here on this site actually two, listed below.  There is actually an article on the physical relationship on the first forum.  I am also an IC support group leader and director of MOARK IC.  If you need more info or some links feel free to pm me.

You might want to consider a referral to a pelvic pain PT.  They are often able to rule out and pelvic issues, muscular etc. that doctor's are not trained to look for.

The expert forum where you can actually ask the doctor here on Medhelp is here also:

Hope this helps!

I had this problem as well.  I went to urologist and he said that I had too much phospherous or something along those lines and to drink more water.  Today i noticed more burning and a white substance in my urethra.  Should I see a different urologist?

MEDICAL PROFESSIONAL
Hello,
The symptoms are suggestive of a urinary tract infection. Please drink plenty of water and cranberry juice and get your urine examination and culture sensitivity done. If UTI is severe then a course of oral antibiotics is needed for which I suggest you to consult a urologist.

I hope it helps. Take care and please do keep us posted on how you are doing. Kind regards.

I do believe it sounds like you have a Urinary Tract Infection. It is quite common especially with changes in the weather. Even though you drink alot of water if there is a burning sensation UTI or possible Prostrate Problem. I am not a Specialist however this can happen at any given time, regardless of age. If you are male it would be good to see a Urologist for prostrate or just M.D. to see if there is infection. They can tell if there is blood in the urine even though you yourself can't see it. Good Luck!!
