continuing urethral pain-female

For the past three years, I have suffered bouts of extreme urethral pain and urgency about once a month. No infection was ever found in the urine. I have been diagnosed with Skene's gland abcess (abscess), which was removed, urethritis, and pelvic floor disorder. I have had two hydrodistentions (no IC was found)and removal of scar tissue. I have also done biofeedback and followed the IC diet to no avail. Now I have been in pain for 6 weeks and no one has an answer for me. The vicodin is losing its effectiveness and I am desperate. Have you any suggestions?

I would assume that basic tests for infection have been performed - including STDs and a urinalysis.
You can consider a cystoscopy, which can comprehensively evaluate the lower GU tract for anatomical abnormalities leading to your symptoms.
A CT scan can be considered to evaluate the kidneys for possible stones.
Urodynamic testing can be done to evaluate bladder function. These are a group of tests that can measure urinary evacuation and storage function.
Another opinion can be sought with a urologist at a major academic medical center.
Followup with your personal physician is essential.
