Q.could I have prostatitis

symptoms since this started: it all started with burning after urination, urgency , pain between scrotum and anus , swollen sensation in anus , I had burning after urination which  now as left me with constant mild burning or mild pain in my urethra (all of it )  very sensitive to touch  pain when sitting for a long time ..

No blood in urine or sperm
No pain or burning when urinating  or orgasm
No discharge
doc as only done a Dip check and sent urine to hospital no uti

The doc put me on some antibiotics (doxycycline) which as removed some of the symptoms but I still have  constant mild burning/pain in my urethra very sensitive to touch and sensations in my anus ie when the burnng is bad in my urethra then my anus will feel the same.
I have up to 3 month wait to go to the hospital (uk) for any more tests but I think
I will have to pay it tends to depress  u a bit .
So what do u think ????????

Yes, prostatitis is possible and can lead to the symptoms you describe.  

A prostate exam, and sending off any prostatic fluid for analysis and culture, should be done.  

If there is question of an abscess, a transrectal ultrasound can be considered for further evaluation.

If prostatitis has been diagnosed, a prolonged antibiotic treatment may be necessary (lasting 4-12 weeks).  

These options can be discussed with your personal urologist.
