cyst in the epididymis/testicles

Cyst have been found in my epididymis and one testcile. Why are they there, what caused them and are they related to any STD?

Hi,
    How are you? Occurrence of epididymal cyst is controversial. It could be due to infection, trauma and developmental abnormality like formation of an extra growth over the epididymis. STD can also cause this condition to occur.

An epididymal cyst is a harmless swelling arising from the epididymis. Occasionally, these might cause discomfort in the testicular or scrotal area. Patients might complain of pain, bleeding, swelling etc.

They can be removed surgically if necessary, although they usually do not require further treatment. In case they are blocking the duct both sides it might result in infertility.

Thanks for the thoughts, I have had pain for over 2 months, went on levaquin 500mg for 45 days, seemed to help with the pain but still there so thats when they did the ultrasound and I am to see a urologist in a few weeks. Meanwhile I am taking a 10 day supply of tetracyclene. Why does the pain seem to be helped by the anitbiotics? Should I have a culture done on prostate secretion? I have and 3 uniary tract test, one culture swab on the urthrea and they have all been negative. What about intercourse, is it safe to contine or stop all activities?

i m a mbbs student..........i have cyst in my epididymis for last 3 years.......
i have consulted docters in my college .......after ultrasonography......
they pointed out it a cyst........they convinced me not to have operation....
mam i want to ask how it occurs........what is the cause of it......
i m worried might it be cancerous.........
i m really worried to get it out after operation
